Socolofsky Farms Natural Pork
We think our pork is among the finest you can find anywhere in the world. Of course, we're a bit biased, but the research supports our view. We raise the Berkshire breed of pigs, a breed renowned worldwide for its gourmet qualities. Berkshire pork is redder than other commercial breeds, and has greater marbling, leading to better taste and juiciness. Berkshires are one of the heritage meat breeds, and the breed is kept pure through registration with the American Berkshire Association. The majority of Berkshire pork raised in the U.S. is exported to Japan, where it is known as Kurobuta pork and commands a premium price. If you've heard of Kobe, the highest quality beef in the world, Kurobuta is the Kobe of pork. We don't raise our pork to taste like chicken and we don't call it the other white meat. In fact, we prefer to call it the other red meat.

If, on the other hand, you're interested in eating the best pork in the land, this is the page for you. At Socolofsky Farms, we raise our purebred Berkshire pigs the old-fashioned way: outdoors, with plenty of access to the crisp Colorado air and bright sunshine. We feed them a specially-formulated diet based on grains, with no added "stuff." In this case, "stuff" includes sub-therapeutic antibiotics, growth hormones, steroids, or other drugs or chemicals. The only treatments we give our pigs include an iron shot and vaccinations soon after birth and monthly wormers. Otherwise, our pigs eat only grain and vitamins. We think this combination of natural, humane treatment and access to the out-of-doors contributes to making ours the best pork you can taste.

The tenderloin is the most tender cut of pork available. Our tenderloins average just about a pound, and are great sliced into medallions and grilled. Vacuum sealed. |

Great slow roasted and then grilled for that final touch of flavor. Our ribs are trimmed to about five inch slabs and include the trimmed meat in the vacuum-sealed pack. |
